Meet our Guests: Nona and Julien

Our friend Nona Kaplan has been Seth’s garden helper for four years. She’s been a valuable part of the wedding flower project and such a big part of keeping things running on the farm. We’ve enjoyed getting to know Nona, her daughter Lu and her boyfriend Julien over the years. Julien, who will also be a guest at the wedding, is from Bordeaux, France and is the winemaker at DuCard Vineyards, another lovely winery we have enjoyed very much. (For locals — you must go sometime! And for anyone heading north to D.C. after the wedding, consider a visit to DuCard!) Nona will be happy to talk to you about gardening or Tennessee (where she’s from), and Julien will regale you with tales of growing up in France or the joys of winemaking in Virginia. We don’t have pictures of Julien or Nona so it’s going to be up to you to figure out who they are!
