Meet our Guests: Joan

Marijean’s Aunt Joan (Joanie, 4th mother) is one of her favorite people on the planet. While Marijean has known Joan her whole life, they’ve never lived in the same place. Visits from Illinois to upstate New York where Joan lives happened once or sometimes twice a year, and always ended with little Marijean throwing a huge fit because she didn’t want to leave her Aunt Joanie’s house. It might have been the plethora of cousins (six) or the in-ground swimming pool, but Mj has always had a special bond with her mom’s older (that’s OK to spill, right?) sister.  In fact, Joan already has three daughters of her own, but jokingly refers to Marijean as “adopted 4th daughter.”

We’re super, extra delighted that Joanie has made the loooong car trip from New York to celebrate with us. Chat up Joan for stories of Marijean as an obnoxious child. She has a few.
